Making Maine Sugarworks Maple Syrup

In autumn, the sugarbush glows with fiery color...
Autumn
There are many chores
to do in autumn.
Firewood needs to be
cut, split, and stacked
to feed the evaporator
in the spring. This is
also the time of year
when we bottle and sell
our holiday syrup line. If
you would like to
receive our holiday
syrup catalogue please

The filter press removes any
remaining sediment, leaving the syrup
crystal clear. Before filling the glass
containers, syrup is heated to 190°
in our bottling unit. Once bottled,
the maple syrup gifts need to be
waxed, then tags and labels need to
be applied. This is a whole family
production.
